Yep, I disappeared again

Back well-rested from overuse during the actual move of The Freehold, I’ve been working on the “customization” necessary to create The Freehold V2 out of the new house. I’m hiring out a lot of the heaviest work, like dropping 13 90+’ pine trees.

(The story on those is that this property was once part of a large farm. During the 1930s, for reasons no one can remember, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) planted it in pines, also for reasons lost to time. 75 years later, the trees have been cut with the salable portions sent to the mill. Somewhere around here, a new home will have a little bit of my new home in it. Kind of cool to think about it that way.)

I’ve done things like roof repair, drying out the basement and applying a water-proof (I hope) coating to keep it dry, some minor landscaping work, building shelves and workbenches, rewiring the cable TV, installing a new wireless Ethernet network and so on.

And of course, holding down the day job that pays for all this.

Needless to say, I’m back to being way too busy. I just wanted both of the faithful readers to know that I hadn’t dropped off the face of the earth–or fallen off the roof.
