Hm-m-m…I wonder

I wonder if this sort of thing might be misused by school administrators in order to conduct searches when they can’t be justified any other way:

Officials locked down two Randolph County schools for a brief time Thursday morning.

It happened after a teacher at Southwestern Randolph Middle School spotted two men near the high school’s grounds carrying what looked like a suspicious object.

The principal called the police and placed the high school and middle school on lockdown while they conducted an investigation.

Police lifted the lockdown when they determined the school was safe.

The search uncovered a paintball gun and an unloaded .22-caliber hunting rifle – both unrelated to the lockdown.

The suspicious object turned out to be a baseball bat.

But deputy, it looked like a gun. Really.
