Shut down the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Really.
You may remember the instance some months ago when “activists” shut down a speech by former Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo, who was in town to speak out against tuition benefits for illegal aliens. (Which, by the way, it looks like we’re getting despite popular disapproval.)
Well, the smarmy little cowards activists are back, this time posting threatening and harassing posters around the campus, trying to put pressure on Youth for Western Civilization and their adviser Elliot Cramer. Cramer, when informed of this by YWC chapter President Nikhil Patel, told Patel, with a cc: to UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp, that he was unconcerned. In the best tradition of the armed American, he noted that “I have a Colt .45, and I know how to use it. I used to be able to hit a quarter at 50 feet seven times out of ten.”
Chancellor Thorpe, man of action, quickly took control of this situation, by banning the threatened/ harassed group.
Yes, you’re reading that correctly. He banned Youth for Western Civilization, apparently because their faculty advisory, who is legally entitled to do so under North Carolina law, was ready to defend himself against a threat to his person.
I used to live in Chapel Hill many years ago, and UNC-CH was a leftist hell-hole then, but the town was a nice place despite that. I don’t know what the town is like now, but apparently the university is a wholly owned subsidiary of UC-Bezerkley.
As an NC taxpayer, I am appalled at the things the money that is taken from me against my will is used to fund. I’m also glad that Daughter is not involved in the UNC system. Trust me when I tell you that Son will not be, either.
Should you care to address this issue with Mr. Thorpe directly, you can reach him at

Be polite. You wouldn’t want him to spring into action against you, would you? Oh, and tell him that I was nice, and didn’t post his home address.
