“Cameras are going to become a part of life”

So sayeth the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles in their quest to redesign various “specialty” fund-raising auto license plates to be more friendly to “digital equipment”.

A bit further along, we find out that this digital equipment consists of the world-famous red-light cameras and new toll-collection cameras for a new toll road. (We pay some of the highest gas taxes in the southeastern US and we still need toll roads. Government efficiency at work–but that’s another post.)

Who wants to bet that those are just the start? Anyone?
