We must note the passing of a true giant of a man, Major Richard Winters, Major, US Army (Retired). A real American Hero in every possible sense of the word (read any of the books written about him or his unit), he died last week, having been afflicted with Parkinson’s Disease for some years.
It seems that in keeping with the demeanor he demonstrated his entire life, he asked that news of his death not be released until after his funeral.
We are truly less for his passing, but far better for his life and his works. An amazing man and an amazing journey. Rest well, sir.
