If you’ve been reading my missives on fine art, you know I really like music from the Baroque Period. One of my favorite composers from that period is Antonio Vivaldi. Since I talked about Vivaldi when I used one of his works for my second favorite season, I’ll skip all the biographical business, and get on to one of his works that honors my favorite season, Autumn.
Autumn (L’autunno in the original Italian) is a perennial favorite among the lovers of Baroque. It was composed c. 1720 as a part of The Four Seasons, a cycle of 4 violin concertos, one for each season. You can read more about this wonderful piece of music here.
