It’s been another hectic week, but I did make some time for reading. Not much, but some.
April Fool by J.L. Curtis, known in blogging circles as OldNFO, is a 42 page novelette. I read it in about 45 minutes, and enjoyed every second of it.
One could almost use that old TV show phrase “Ripped from the headlines!” to describe the subject matter, but as of yet none of things he speculates has happened.
As of yet.
I’ll give you the elevator pitch: Army veteran and former spook ‘Mac’ McCampbell is trying to get through the loss of his leg and a PhD program at the University of Texas-Austin, when circumstances and his senses of duty and decency drag him back into the fight, this time on his home turf.
I hope to see more of Mac.
