In a lawsuit that targeted on-line ammo sellers, the parents of one of the victims of the never-to-be-named-again spree killer in the Aurora, CO theater shootings attempted to sue for damages. The theory is that they were somehow complicit because they sold the ammo.
A US District Court has issued a firm “Nope” to that, in accordance with the law, and in accordance with reality. As stupidly foolish as things are getting these days, if this theory of law were allowed you would pretty soon be seeing lawsuits against the manufacturers of the underwear worn by the killer as well.
