I saw this this morning on Drudge and just about ruined a keyboard.
Yeah, buddy. I want me some 18% interest rates, 65o thermostats, even/odd day gas rationing, WIN, leisure suits, platform shoes and disco. I guess the old saying is true, the nut really doesn’t fall far from the tree.

The wife and I lived in the little burg of Emma, KY when Carter had the Post Offices shut down in the middle of the day to 'save' energy. The Emma Post Office was a lean-to on the end of the ramshackle Emma grocery store, with a coal stove up front, and a light bulb hanging on a cord in the customer area, and another light bulb hanging on a cord behind the window. The Postmistress would dutifully turn off both light bulbs at the appointed time and sit by the coal stove with her customers until the time came to open up again.
