I guess the reading of the Constitution helped about as much as I expected it to

In other words, it didn’t help a bit.

Rep. Robert Brady (D-Pa.) reportedly plans to introduce legislation that would make it a federal crime to use language or symbols that could be perceived as threatening or inciting violence against a federal official or member of Congress.

“The president is a federal official,” Brady told CNN in a telephone interview. “You can’t do it to him; you should not be able to do it to a congressman, senator or federal judge.”

Yeah, and it’s BS when applied to the president as well. “…perceived as threatening…”? As wussy as some of our darling elected law makers are, I’m sure some of them would perceive this post as threatening. If something as stupid as this law gets passed, the reason we are going to notice our butts hurt is because our feet just slid out from under us on that slippery slope.

It’s a dangerous world out there, folks. And when you put yourself out in front and you make decisions, no matter what the decision or what direction the decision goes, there are always going to be some people who will not be your fanbois. Occasionally, this fact will rise up and cause great trouble, as the events of Saturday show.

If you can’t handle this reality, then you need to stay on the porch.
