Why this woman has such an issue with an inter-agency police task force that she starts a blog about them, but be that as it may.
I can understand the officers’ desire not to have their names and personal information splashed about the Intertubz. However, they should remember that they chose a career in public service. You work for the public, a lot of things that you might rather keep private will instead be public. It’s those nasty public access to information laws, don’tcha know.
At any rate, one or more of the officers who have been guest stars on the above blog are unhappy about that. After intimidation didn’t work, they decided to take the legal route, and have the blogger charged as a stalker.
This is as it should be. You see, down the road of secret police agencies and secret court proceedings lies the Star Chamber, which, despite it’s initial good aims, has become a a seriously pejorative term for secret courts accountable to no one.
We don’t want to go there, do we?
