As the Tea Party rolls along, racking up more and more victories, it’s nice to see the legacy political groups lining up for the fight.
That’s a big change from earlier today, when, in a fit of pique, the NRSC spokesdroid said that support for O’Donnell was out of the question.
If we stand any chance at all of getting the US back on track, it’s going to have to be forced on the current leadership of both political parties. This morning’s nasty remarks from the spokesdroid are further proof of that, as far as I’m concerned.
People like Christine O’Donnell, Kelly Ayott, Carl Paladino and Joel Miller appear to be some of the ones planning on doing it to the Republicans, if they live up to their promises (always a big “if” in politics). I don’t know who might do it to the Democrats, given that I see no one on the horizon that looks like a Scoop Jackson or Zell Miller. The kook-fringe of that party seems to have run them all underground, but I have hope that someone will take heart and rise up. I’d like to see that party rise up again as well.
It’d be nice to wake up to a real two- (or more) party system someday soon.
