Odd…

I thought the Democrats were supposed to be all about “civil liberties”…

…the Obama administration has argued that warrantless tracking is permitted because Americans enjoy no “reasonable expectation of privacy” in their–or at least their cell phones’–whereabouts. U.S. Department of Justice lawyers say that “a customer’s Fourth Amendment rights are not violated when the phone company reveals to the government its own records” that show where a mobile device placed and received calls.

Now, this case involves bank robbers, and, of course, we all want to see criminals brought to justice. The Democrats are just trying to be “tough on crime”. And we all know that the government would never abuse their powers, so we really have nothing to worry about. Nothing at all.

  1. Where are the same folks screaming about Bush, the Patriot Act, AT&T wiretapping and such. They are all of a sudden very quiet now.
