Huh. You know, I remember seeing that dish-decorated structure (the CCL building, it appears) as we steamed past Hawaii on my last deployment. At the time, looking at it through the Big Eyes, I came to the conclusion that anyone manning that particular installation had to be certifiably out of their gourds.
Looking at the pictures, it seems as though I was correct.
Damned interesting piece of history, though.
