I will not be exceedingly careful in my opposition to a nominee to the United State Supreme Court who has a demonstrated record of being inimical to certain civil rights of which she disapproves.
I will not be exceedingly careful in my opposition to a nominee to the United States Supreme Court who has had 6 decisions overturned by that same United States Supreme Court and whose legal reasoning was criticized in a 7th, which was upheld for other reasons. (I suppose this is partial proof that a stopped clock is indeed correct twice a day.)
I will not be exceedingly careful in my opposition to a nominee to the United States Supreme Court who seems to have, as the chief points in her favor, the facts of being female, of Hispanic background and has a “compelling story“. None of these are appropriate qualifications for those who sit in the highest seats of judgment in the land.
I will not be exceedingly careful in my opposition to a nominee to the United States Supreme Court in order to make your boss or any other politically correct asshole happy. Unlike some, I have no pathological need for the love, affection or approval of those on the left, those in power, or those who would place themselves over my God-given rights.
I will not be exceedingly careful in my opposition to a nominee to the United States Supreme Court who thinks that “a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.” What kind of racist/sexist remark is that? Difficult as it is to picture, can you imagine if yours truly was the nominee, and said that “an overweight white guy with a bad attitude would more often reach a better conclusion than any given minority who had to claw their way up from poverty”? I suspect that the liberal outrage would cause me to burst spontaneously into flame.
And Mr. Gibbs, you are a complete poltroon. I do not grant you the fact that this confirmation is “impending”. I plan to use every method at my disposal, from this blog to lobbying my senators, to see to it that, at the very least, Ms. Sotomayor has at least as much fun as Robert Bork did during his confirmation attempt.
