While I’m sure there will be a “vigorous debate” in the Senate, I have no doubt that Sotomayor, who describes the Supreme Court as being “where laws are made”, will eventually be confirmed. We are lucky in that this will not change the ideological makeup of the court, but we are unlucky in that she is probably even more left-leaning than Souter.
For those of us who value the Constitution and our civil rights, this does not bode well.
I think I’ve had about all the Change I can stand.
