On the eve of a hard victory on his “stimulus” package. Mr. Obama has been dealt another setback–Republican Sen. Judd Gregg has withdrawn his nomination for commerce secretary. Sounding a bit like a divorce complaint, Sen. Gregg cited “irresolvable conflicts” over the stimulus bill and the Obama administrations attempt to take over the 2010 census.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs tried to pin the blame on Gibbs, saying that Gibbs had asked to be nominated and that he had said he could support Obama-rama’s policies.
I think he looked in the mirror and just couldn’t see himself wearing a socialist suit.
