Pat Buchanan has a new book coming out

(Via Drudge)

I’m not sure how long sur how long this link will be good, so look now if you’re interested…

A few select quotes Drudge attributes to the book:

There is no conservative party left in Washington. Conservative thinkers and writers who were to be the watchdogs of orthodoxy have been as vigilant in policing party deviations from principle as was Cardinal Law in collaring the predator-priests of the Boston archdiocese.

This is democratic imperialism. This will bleed, bankrupt and isolate this republic. This overthrows the wisdom of the Founding Fathers about what America should be all about. (speaking on the “Bush Doctrine”)

Terrorism is the price of empire. If we do not wish to pay it, we must give up the empire.

Free trade is the serial killer of American manufacturing and the Trojan Horse of World Government. It is the primrose path to the loss of economic independence and national sovereignty. Free trade is a bright shining lie.

There is no conservative party in Washington. There is a Democratic Party of tax-and-spend and a Republican Party of guns and butter and tax cuts, too. Washington is all accelerator, the brakes are gone.

How did it happen that a republic born of a rebellion against a king and parliament we did not elect has fallen under a tyranny of judges we did not elect? How did we come to live under what Jefferson warned us would be ‘the despotism of an oligarchy’?

George W. Bush is a God-fearing and good man….He kept his commitment to cut taxes….He has revived an economy sinking into recession when he took office. He has chosen fine judges. His willingness to accept international abuse by rejecting the Kyoto Protocol and the International Criminal Court show him to be a patriot who will not yield national sovereignty.

If George Bush is reelected and the Senate that confirms new justices remains Republican, there is the chance…the curtain may be brought down on the court’s fifty-year run as battering ram of social revolution.

Drudge says the book is out on Sept. 1, which is wrong–Amazon is shipping the hardcover now. I would say that I’d wait for my tax dollars to buy a copy I could check out at the public library, but somehow I doubt that will be happening, even in the pretty conservative small town that I live in.
